About

About Autonomy Wire

Autonomy Wire tracks how drones, uncrewed vessels, robotic vehicles and autonomous software are changing defense, across air, sea, land and space.

What we cover

Programs, contracts, tests, policy and research on military autonomy, from Pentagon decisions to startup funding rounds. We focus on the U.S. and its allies, and on the stories that matter to people building, buying and fielding these systems.

How it works

Each weekday we scan defense outlets, government releases and research for the most important autonomy stories. Every summary on this site is written in our own words, and every story links to the original publisher. We use AI tools to help find and summarize stories. When we add our own analysis, it appears under “Why it matters.”

The Friday brief

Once a week we send the stories that mattered most, each with a line on why. It’s free, and you can unsubscribe anytime.

Disclosures

Autonomy Wire’s publisher is a co-founder of Code19 Autonomy, a defense autonomy company. Any story that involves Code19 says so in its summary.
