South Korea opens a headquarters to steer drone and counter-drone efforts

South Korea's defense ministry opened a Defense Drone Headquarters in Pocheon on Monday, replacing the Drone Operations Command with a body that sets drone and counter-drone strategy across all services. Seoul plans a fast-track approval list for commercial drones and aims to rapidly buy more than 20,000 low-cost expendable combat drones, citing North Korea's growing drone tests. No budget figures were given.
